A measure of the electrical conductivity of a solution, usually measured in Siemens per centimeter (but also as MHO/cm in older publications). An EC value of 1 corresponds to 1 mS/cm. EC values are used to keep track of nutrients in a solution over time, high EC values are toxic to plants.
